Acupuncture is an ancient healing modality that began approximately 5000 years ago in China. Early physicians discovered a complex energy network called meridians, traversing just below the surface of the skin, mapping out more than two thousand concentrated energy centers along these pathways called acupuncture points. Chi or vital life force energy flows through these meridians and works in harmony with the body’s circulation, nervous, muscular, immune, digestive, genitourinary, and all other systems of the body. When vital energy (chi) becomes blocked or weakened along a meridian line, a symptom in a body system will become evident. Stimulation of the acupuncture point can restore the free flow of chi, which induces healing, pain relief, increased circulation, lymphatic drainage and immune system response to bring that body back into homeostasis and into a state of healing.
In our practice we integrate auricular and body acupuncture points as well as acupressure for healing. Virtually any condition and symptom can be helped with acupuncture medicine.
