Crossroads Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is essential to maintain the health of your spine. This is true whether you are experiencing pain or not.
By choice, chiropractors do not use drugs or surgery. Instead they utilize natural approaches to allow the body to heal itself. Chiropractors are facilitators of health that utilize several approaches including: adjustments, physical rehabilitation exercise, physiotherapy, nutritional consultation, orthotics and daily living modifications.
Pain reduction: Aches and pains are a sign that your body isn’t working correctly. This can occur from an injury, but it can also be caused by repetitive stress on your body from a variety of causes such as poor posture, sitting all day, working out or even the way you sleep. By performing a thorough exam, a chiropractor is trained to find the joints that are being affected, and to utilize a chiropractic adjustment to either re-align a joint that has moved slightly out of place (known as a subluxation) or to put motion back into a joint that has become restricted. Chiropractors can actually adjust every joint in the body, meaning not only do they adjust the vertebrae of the spine, but also the pelvis, feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, wrists and elbows!
Wellness Care: Maintaining your spine with chiropractic adjustments not only relieves pain, but also prevents it as well! If you don’t have pain, you likely only need maintenance care once or twice a month. If you came in with pain and it is now reduced or gone, then it is essential that you continue with wellness care to prevent the symptoms from coming back. For most people, it’s their regular daily activities that contributed to their symptoms in the first place: posture at work, how you sleep, too much sitting, working out, etc. Those stressors on your body are not going to go away, so our goal becomes staying ahead of them!
Treatment Plans: Your doctor is trained to do a thorough exam so that they can best recommend a course of treatment individualized to your needs. With chiropractic care, each visit builds on the last, and we must retrain your muscles, tendons and ligaments to hold your joints in the correct alignment. Because of this, treatments will usually begin at a higher frequency and taper down until we get to wellness/maintenance care. Each phase of care; pain reduction, stabilization, wellness are extremely important to reaching long term success with chiropractic.

TECHIQUES WE PRACTICE
Diversfied:
This technique has three main objectives: restore spinal alignment, repair joint dysfunction and enhance proper movement. This is a manual technique where doctors use what’s called a high-velocity, low amplitude thrust to adjust the joint being addressed. This is the most commonly used technique by chiropractors, with 95.9% of chiropractors practicing this technique
Activator:
The Activator Method uses a small, hand-held instrument called the Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine with the goal of restoring motion to the targeted spinal vertebra or joint.
Thompson Drop:
This technique utilizes a table with pieces that move or drop during the adjustment.
